The AI Endgame: Higher Output and Deflation
davidpattersonx · x · 2026-07-14
The author proposes an extremely optimistic future outlook: by around 2030, technology will essentially reach an "optimal endpoint," after which new technological advancements will become increasingly rare.
He believes that with the widespread adoption of AI and humanoid robots, labor will no longer be a constraint on output. Total economic output could increase 10x to 100x within a decade, and prices will plummet due to improved efficiency, labor substitution, and the amortization of capital costs. Extrapolating further, if the future relies on Universal High Income (UHI) for wealth distribution, many would receive an equivalent purchasing power close to a million-dollar annual income in today's terms. Ultimately, "everyone will be unemployed but much richer."
