ChatGPT and Codex Usage Limits Can Now Be Reset
testingcatalog · x · 2026-07-14
ChatGPT and Codex now allow users to reset usage limits on both the web and mobile apps via the usage settings; previously, this was only available on the desktop app.
The post also mentions that a recent banked reset didn't work for a small subset of users. Instead of debugging this individually, OpenAI issued a blanket banked reset to everyone who clicked reset during that 2-hour window to fix the issue and test the new infrastructure. It was also teased that tomorrow will celebrate the 7 million active users milestone by rolling out the first full banked reset to everyone.
