Claude Code CLI Adds Bash and Multi-Agent Tools
ClaudeCodeLog · x · 2026-07-14
Claude Code CLI has released version 2.1.209.
The three most significant changes are:
- A new tool that executes user-provided bash commands and returns the output, enabling prompts to make direct shell queries.
- A new tool to launch new agents for orchestrating, delegating, and chaining complex multi-step tasks.
- A fix for an issue where background agent sessions blocked /model and other dialogues, restoring normal interaction and settings access.
Follow-up replies add more changelog details, but the core update is that Claude Code continues to enhance the "tool calling + multi-agent collaboration" workflow at the CLI level.
