Will AI Replace Design?

The author argues that taste is essentially a form of "prediction"—good things are often loved by a few first before becoming a consensus. Historically, movements like Impressionism and Baroque experienced a process of "initially disliked, later becoming classics."
Based on this premise, he believes human design won't be completely replaced by AI. AI is better at providing answers "the world already approves of," but it cannot favor things "the world doesn't want yet" on our behalf. The true value of design lies in betting early on the tail of the distribution, turning future fringes into the mainstream.
