Opinion: Embracing AI Might Actually Widen the Competitive Gap

Author @orange poses a question: If you and your competitor both become 3x stronger, does the income gap shrink, widen, or stay the same?
The answer is often that it widens, which is bad news if you were the weaker party. This perfectly mirrors the current impact of LLMs on business: if you eagerly embrace AI but your stronger competitor does too, the gap between you may actually widen. The only exceptions are if your competitor ignores AI entirely, or if your industry doesn't rely on AI coding as a core competency.
