AI in Healthcare: Human-AI Collaboration Beats Going Solo

A doctor shared observations on AI in professional fields, pointing out that asking whether "AI is better than doctors" is the wrong question. The real focus should be on which model works best: "doctor alone," "doctor + AI," or "pure AI." A year and a half ago, AI actually slowed doctors down because verifying AI-generated information was more time-consuming than finding it themselves. Today, however, the "doctor + AI" combination vastly outperforms doctors working alone, and this advantage is compounding as models improve and user proficiency grows. The author warns that peers who haven't mastered AI tools are now at risk of being phased out.
