Agents Need to Understand Their Own Interfaces

The author notes that while this might seem like a minor detail, it's actually quite rare for agents: after Codex displayed a content block in the main body, the author asked it to open the same artifact in the right-side panel, and the system understood exactly what he meant.

Achieving this requires the agent to know exactly where it is within the product, what UI zones are available, and how users might colloquially refer to those zones. The author believes that most agents still have almost zero awareness of "their own interface," representing a massive area for breakthrough.
