Prefect has announced the acquisition of Dagster. Both parties stated that the merger will unite two long-competing open-source workflow orchestration products and their communities under a single, already profitable company.
The announcement noted that Dagster and Dagster+ will continue to operate as independent products and brands, with usage remaining unchanged for both new and existing customers. Management emphasized that the acquisition aims not just to consolidate the current market, but to pioneer next-generation automation.
