AI for ICD Screening Must Prove It Saves Lives

The author points out that to genuinely save lives, algorithms must exclude individuals who will eventually develop ICD indications but remain unidentifiable at earlier stages. Otherwise, even if the model "identifies the right patients," it might merely be flagging them prematurely without actually reducing the risk of sudden death.
