Soft Floating Robot: A Safe Office Companion

jakedahn · x · 2026-07-13

Researchers have developed a soft floating robot designed for indoor interaction. Instead of traditional propellers, it moves using helium and flapping fish fins, making it silent, lightweight, and safe to the touch. It can follow people, provide reminders, and act as a learning companion. The related research has been published in ACM DIS 2026.
