Designing Child Development-Oriented AI Policies

Researchers and policy experts jointly propose that AI policy should not be limited to minimizing potential harm, but should optimize for the goal of "promoting the flourishing of children and adolescents." The research points out that the industry missed the opportunity to establish clear youth protection policies for social media. Now, facing the proliferation of social AI, proactive measures must be taken. The study releases a series of specific recommendations for child-oriented AI design and policy.
