Google Releases Foundation Model for Wearable Data
The Decoder · rss · 2026-07-13
SensorFM by Google Research is a foundation model designed for wearable sensor data. It was trained on data from over 5 million Fitbit and Pixel Watch users, accumulating more than 1 trillion minutes of wearable data.
The article states that it outperforms existing baselines on 34 out of 35 health and behavioral tasks, demonstrating the potential to unify messy sensor time-series data into a universal health intelligence layer. Google might eventually integrate this into an AI health coach, though no specific integration plans have been announced yet.
