Baidu's Apollo Go announced that it hosted local journalists for test rides on Hong Kong Airport Island, alongside the Hong Kong Transport Department.
According to the official statement, Apollo Go initially launched tests on Airport Island before expanding to North Lantau, East Kowloon, and the southern part of Hong Kong Island. The system has been adapted to Hong Kong's right-hand drive, left-hand traffic environment, maintaining stability across varying weather, heavy traffic, and different network conditions.
As of the end of May, the cumulative safe driving distance has exceeded 240,000 kilometers. Baidu stated that the technology powering Apollo Go is ready for its next phase.
