G1 Becomes Default Platform for RSS 2026 Humanoid Research

At the RSS 2026 humanoid session, 12 out of 13 papers used Unitree's G1 for real-world evaluation.
The author believes G1 has essentially become the default physical platform for current humanoid robotics research, having almost completely "won" in the research community. They also mention that despite market FUD regarding its IPO, G1's actual adoption rate remains exceptionally high.
