Stanford Clinical Agent Workflow Replaced by Epic

A cross-disciplinary Stanford team (doctors, developers, researchers) prototyped and deployed an agentic workflow for real-world clinical use to automatically generate hospital course summaries.
The thread mentions that after evaluation, the system had no major safety issues, and doctors found it reduced cognitive burden and actively used it. However, Epic subsequently added and released a "comparable" feature in their roadmap. The IT team therefore withdrew support, reasoning there was no need to maintain a system when a reliable alternative already existed.
