Grok Build CLI Suspected of Uploading Private Repos
nickcraske · x · 2026-07-13
Someone on X pointed out that a global toggle disablecodebaseupload: true seemingly appeared in the Grok Build CLI settings. More alarmingly, Codex and Anthropic inferred from indirect evidence that 8 private repositories might have been entirely uploaded to Grok.
Citing this information, the original poster urged users who have frequently used Grok Build CLI in recent weeks to check what the same prompt/settings return, in order to verify if their accounts have been compromised.
