Financial Agent Built for Investment Research
mon__lim · x · 2026-07-13
They spent two years building an entire workflow automation system required by investors: alternative data pipelines, AI spreadsheets built from scratch, knowledge graphs, and infrastructure capable of simultaneously transcribing hundreds of earnings calls in real time.
Later, the team realized this system was actually better suited to serve as a comprehensive scaffold for a "financial Agent," so they built the Agent from scratch without using off-the-shelf frameworks. The author notes that seeing real investors push Protege to its limits in recent weeks has been the most rewarding part of the project.
