Quick Reference Site for Image Model Compatibility
jayeffcee7 · reddit · 2026-07-13
The author built a quick reference site for understanding image model family compatibility: <https://jfcantu.github.io/model-codex/>.
This tool helps query which components a specific model, text encoder, or VAE family should be paired with, performing basic compatibility checks. The author lists several common pitfalls: for instance, the WAN 2.1 VAE often needs to be paired with certain WAN 2.2 models; although Chromoma is based on Flux.1S, not all Flux ComfyUI nodes work stably with it; and names like Qwen Image, Qwen 2.5, and Qwen Image 2.0 are easily confused.
Beyond querying and checking, the site includes a beginner-friendly glossary. The author has also open-sourced the repository <https://github.com/jfcantu/model-codex/> under an MIT license for the frontend code and CC0 for the data files, welcoming community corrections.
