Dutch Intelligence Agencies Accused of Unlawful AI Data Training

The Dutch oversight body CTIVD has ruled that intelligence agencies AIVD and MIVD improperly accessed and retained large-scale datasets, potentially violating Dutch law.
According to the cited report, this data includes names, phone numbers, locations, social media content, and communications. Sources range from government databases to commercial purchases and dark web data. Digital rights group Bits of Freedom highlighted from the report that these agencies appear to be using this data to train their own AI models.
