Responding to a WSJ article about data center footprints, the author argues that the land use issues they previously wrote about are not actually "obvious".

He points out that current media headlines are already suggesting: The land occupied by data centers might be seriously threatening US farmland. This reflects that AI infrastructure expansion involves not just electricity and compute, but is also starting to trigger disputes over land resources and agricultural land.
