A developer encountered issues reproducing the initial high-quality, realistic results when fine-tuning a LoRA for the Z-Image Turbo model using SimpleTuner and AI Toolkit. After more than a dozen training runs adjusting rank (32-64), learning rate, dropout, and swapping datasets, the generated images still had a "plastic/oil painting feel" and relied heavily on lengthy prompts to barely achieve realism.
The author shared their detailed configuration parameters in AI Toolkit (including network structure, dataset settings, and training hyperparameters), hoping the community could help troubleshoot whether the loss of realism is due to overfitting, underfitting, dataset issues, or improper configuration.
