Coding Agent Fails to Follow Workflow
davidmanheim · x · 2026-07-12
This reply vents about a coding agent's execution: it claimed to be continuing its task but actually stalled. It also failed to regularly check in and run tests as mandated by agents.md, completely ignoring the explicit instruction to "commit periodically without requiring user confirmation."
The core issue isn't whether the agent can write code, but whether it genuinely adheres to workflow constraints: continuous execution, mandatory check-ins, and automated testing.
