Developers note that AI is changing development patterns and language choices for large projects. Using Bun as an example, its codebase was almost entirely rewritten via an AI-driven process, something nearly impossible five years ago. Since Rust and Python dominate the training data of current AI models, AI tools handle these languages far better than niche ones. Additionally, AI can solve many specific problems that niche languages were originally created to address, leading developers to increasingly favor mainstream languages to better leverage AI productivity.
