ChatGPT Plans to Remove Group Chats
Internal-Shop-6684 · reddit · 2026-07-12
OpenAI is removing the group chat feature from ChatGPT and may replace it with a Messages entry that resembles direct messaging.
The post also mentions new strings in the latest Android version, including:
- Stay on top of messages
- Start a message with someone to see it here
- Get notified when people send you new messages
These strings imply that ChatGPT is shifting toward a messaging/private chat style of interaction.
