Sebastien Bubeck believes OpenAI's choice to credit only "OpenAI" is deliberate, and he supports it.

He adds that as AI advances, cultural norms around academic attribution may need to evolve. Rather than attaching personal names to short arXiv preprints with minimal actual contribution, he prefers institutional authorship, especially when a company is investing heavily in math research.
