Using healthcare as an example: a hospital buying a decentralized stack that is 50% cheaper but 90% as capable might not be a good deal. For high-stakes decisions, patients and doctors care more about quality, reliability, and accountability; when the value AI creates far exceeds inference costs, savings per token matter much less.
