ChatGPT Might Shift to a Messages Tab
btibor91 · x · 2026-07-12
ChatGPT appears to be transforming its group chat feature into something more akin to a private messaging Messages tab.
A leaker discovered relevant strings in the latest Android version, including:
- “Stay on top of messages”
- “Start a message with someone to see it here”
- “Get notified when people send you new messages”
This suggests ChatGPT might introduce a more DM-centric messaging interface and notification system, moving away from using group chats as the core entry point.
