RTX 5090 vs 6000 PRO: Performance Benchmarks
panchovix · reddit · 2026-07-12
A Reddit benchmark compared the RTX 5090, RTX 6000 PRO MaxQ, and 6000 PRO WS/SE under high power loads, covering image generation and LLM prompt processing. The author applied a shunt mod and water cooling to the 6000 PRO MaxQ, pushing power draw to 600W, with temps rising from about 45°C (at 300W) to 60°C (at 600W). Rented Runpod GPUs, which cannot be overclocked or overvolted, served as a baseline.
The test also details the full software stack: Torch nightly/stable, SageAttention, Forge neo, extra upscaler and sampler extensions, and torch compile settings. Parameters, samplers, and prompts are fully provided. Overall, it's an engineering-focused review of GPU and inference performance.
