VLM Drives Real-Time Hotkey Interactions
LearnWithBishal · x · 2026-07-12
This post explores a new interaction method for AI-driven worlds: a background VLM suggests events in real-time, which are then mapped to keyboard hotkeys.
The hotkeys are categorized into three types:
- Fixed keys: e.g., Spacebar for jumping
- Context-aware events: proposed by the VLM, such as switching between melee/ranged attacks or environmental interactions
- Number keys: user-defined events
The core idea is to let players actively control what happens next with a single keystroke, rather than just passively walking around an AI-generated environment.
