Study Proves Handwriting Changes the Brain

Experiments by Norwegian neuroscientist Audrey van der Meer have proven that handwriting impacts the brain in ways typing simply cannot replace.

The study involved 36 university students who wore EEG caps with 256 sensors to record brain activity while handwriting and typing in response to screen prompts. The findings revealed that handwriting triggers more complex and widespread brain network connectivity, playing a crucial role in learning and memory.
