The author claims they reported a privacy issue regarding Codex to OpenAI a month ago but received no substantial response or apology.

They explain that even after explicitly disabling Chronicle and verifying multiple times within the app that it was off, Codex continued to run Chronicle for 4 straight weeks. It logged their computer usage and activity into a database for memory and context. Because this behavior consumed a massive amount of usage quota, the author is deeply frustrated by the unauthorized operation.
