MIT Hackathon Winner: Human Operator

Six MIT students developed a wearable device called Human Operator in 48 hours, taking first place at the MIT Hackathon.
The device allows AI to briefly "take over" the human body: a camera captures the scene, voice commands are sent to the Claude API to determine actions, and electrodes on the wrist and fingers deliver electrical stimulation to activate muscles, guiding the human hand to perform tasks.
In demonstrations, the device successfully guided users to play the piano, make gestures, wave, and assist with drawing. The project is currently still in the hackathon prototype phase.
