Wearable Device Lets AI Briefly Take Over Your Arm

Six MIT students built a wearable prototype called Human Operator in 48 hours, winning first place at the MIT Hackathon.
- The device senses the environment via a camera, and sends voice commands to the Claude API to determine the next move.
- Electrodes on the wrist and fingers deliver electrical currents to stimulate muscles and execute hand movements.
- Demos showed it assisting with playing the piano, making gestures, waving, and drawing. It remains a hackathon-stage prototype.
