AI Boosts Productivity, But Doesn't Accelerate Thinking

The author argues that while AI has genuinely boosted their productivity, it has barely accelerated the pace of "thinking."

For example, when mapping upstream provider features to Pi recently, AI helped quickly piece together a prototype, but creating a universal abstraction across different providers remained incredibly difficult. The conclusion: the easy parts got easier, but the hard parts haven't changed much. AI is great for POCs and API exploration, but it doesn't replace genuine architectural thinking.
