Localized Garmin MCP: Analyze Without Internet
anupshesh · reddit · 2026-07-11
This is a local MCP for Garmin data: instead of hitting Garmin's unofficial, rate-limited API for every query, it incrementally syncs data to a local repository first.
The author highlights several improvements:
- Local storage: Raw JSON + SQLite; you own your data
- Offline availability: Can still analyze synced history even if the API goes down
- Server-side analysis: Trends, correlations, baselines, and anomaly detection are computed locally, returning only small table results
- Zero-account fallback path: Can import manually exported FIT data packages
- Streamlined tools: Retains only 12 composable tools instead of a bunch of thinly wrapped interfaces
