Clifford: A Control Plane CLI for Local AI
IUseClifford · reddit · 2026-07-11
Clifford is a control plane CLI/daemon designed for local AI, aiming to make saving, loading, and reusing existing local model configurations much smoother.
What It Does
- Manage profiles via CLI, e.g., clifford profiles add qwen and clifford load qwen
- Connect with popular community agents/frontends like Pi, Hermes, and Claude Code
- Adopts a "bring your own backend" approach without bundling model backends
Current Support & Status
- Officially supports llama-server for now
- Will support more backends in the future, such as vLLM
- The author built this for a smoother personal workflow and welcomes feedback
