Rerun Joins MCP for Debugging Loop
janusch_patas · x · 2026-07-11
The post introduces two key updates from Rerun for agent debugging workflows:
- 0.34 adds MCP support: Agents can now take screenshots, interact with the viewer, rotate 3D spatial components, and open/close views—essentially performing almost any action a user can within the viewer, thus closing the debugging loop.
- Improved model capabilities: The author notes that both Anthropic and OpenAI have released stronger models, which should lead to cleaner implementations, better performance, and easier detection of bugs in older versions.
The context also mentions the author is re-implementing Gaussian Splatting support, leveraging the new MCP capabilities to let the agent directly participate in visual debugging.
