A developer reflects on the illusion of competitive advantage in the AI era: devs often compare current AI efficiencies to the past, feeling like they have superpowers. However, if everyone can easily achieve this, it simply becomes the new baseline. True value stems from **asymmetry**. If a tool automatically solves all problems, it does the same for competitors. Therefore, deeply mining and leveraging proprietary data is the only way to establish a differentiated edge.
