Low-Cost Automated Web Extraction with Claude

A poster took on a contract job requiring information extraction from websites, which would have been extremely time-consuming to do manually. The approach was to have Claude first write a script, which consumes very few tokens. Afterward, simply telling Claude to start the task allows the model to run it automatically and return the results. The user only had to submit the final deliverables at the end of the day. They emphasized that while the job requires some domain expertise, the workflow itself is very straightforward.
