Codex Quotas Reset and Iteration Continues
Dimillian · x · 2026-07-11
The OpenAI team announced they have reset usage limits for Codex and ChatGPT Work, with another reset scheduled for later the same day.
Reviewing feedback and usage over the past 24 hours, they admitted a few missteps in the recent update:
- The highest compute tier was too easily accessible, with unclear implications for quota usage
- A massive desktop app reorganization disrupted familiar user interfaces
The post also stressed that Codex will remain active, and the team will continue to improve it.
