Hugging Face CEO: Open Source AI Matters More Than Ever

Hugging Face CEO Clem Delangue stated that open source AI is thriving. Hugging Face has grown into an "AI GitHub" for sharing models and datasets, currently used by about half of the Fortune 500. He noted a common industry pattern: companies often start with closed-source models but eventually shift to open source as their needs for data privacy, security, and customization grow. This is why he believes open source AI is critically important today.
