SK Hynix Warns of Persistent Memory Shortage

At a Nasdaq IPO press conference, the CEO of SK Hynix stated that demand is growing much faster than supply can expand, meaning the memory shortage could persist for some time.

He also noted that the industry is "no longer a cyclical business"; even during downturns, long-term agreements with clients will sustain shipment volumes and memory prices. Further citing indicates that fab expansions face significant lead times and capacity constraints, and these long-term contracts reflect customer expectations of prolonged shortages.
