AssemblyAI New Model Test: Context Linking Solves Speech Recognition Hurdles
AssemblyAI · x · 2026-07-11
AssemblyAI has released the Universal-3.5 Pro Realtime speech-to-text model. In a hands-on test of a LiveKit-based restaurant ordering agent, the model demonstrated extremely high recognition accuracy when faced with various difficult-to-pronounce foreign dish names.
Its core breakthrough is native support for agent context continuation. While traditional speech models typically transcribe each sentence in isolation, the new model can automatically leverage conversational context (such as a menu just listed by the agent) to more accurately predict and calibrate subsequent speech recognition results.
