UK Proposes Massive Fines for Platforms Failing to Block Scam Ads

Under the Online Safety Act, Ofcom has proposed stricter regulations requiring large online platforms to proactively prevent, detect, and remove scam advertisements. Non-compliant platforms could face fines of up to £18 million or 10% of their global annual turnover.
