Sunrun Launches Distributed AI Compute Pilot

Solar and home storage company Sunrun is expanding into AI data centers with a new "distributed AI compute" pilot program.
Instead of building massive new data centers, the initiative pays households equipped with Sunrun solar and battery systems to host compute nodes. Sunrun then aggregates and sells this decentralized computing power to enterprise buyers like AI companies, offering a novel distributed solution to the industry's growing compute and space demands.
