Codex Usage Visualization Widget
aigclink · x · 2026-07-10
`codexU` on GitHub is a macOS menu bar and desktop widget designed for Codex and Claude Code. It integrates quota windows, token usage, and a daily task dashboard right into the system bar for quick developer reference. Its most interesting feature is the "freeloader progress" tracker: it converts locally parsed tokens into USD based on OpenAI API pricing, displaying it alongside the subscription cost on a progress bar to show how much you've "made back" this month. The author originally built it for personal use but later open-sourced it.
