OpenAI Shuts Down Atlas, Pivots to Desktop and Plugins

OpenAI is shutting down its AI browser Atlas less than a year after its launch.
However, it hasn't abandoned the "AI browser" concept. Instead, it is shifting some agentic browsing capabilities to its desktop app and Chrome extensions to continue advancing automated workflows within the browser.
