New Report on Studying AI Welfare Empirically Released

CMEP and Eleos AI released a new report, "Studying AI Welfare Empirically," tackling the question: "Even if AI welfare matters, how can we know any relevant facts about it?" Building on their 2024 paper "Taking AI Welfare Seriously," the report focuses on using empirical methods to test whether AI welfare exists and what its nature might be.
