Codex Merges Into the ChatGPT Desktop App

OpenAI has merged Codex and ChatGPT into a single desktop application, with Codex retained as a dedicated space. The new version introduces updated coding workflows, a Chrome extension, a rebuilt in-app browser, and a faster Computer Use experience powered by GPT-5.6.
