Project AI 2040: A Safe and Transparent Vision for AGI

A research team has published "AI 2040: Plan A," outlining a proactive, safe, slow, and transparent vision for building AGI. The plan is designed as an alternative to the AI takeover or irreversible power concentration predicted in "AI 2027." It acknowledges that even in the best timeline, things will get crazy and scary, but argues this is the least bad option currently known.
